At 2704-feet, Camelback Mountain is the largest in Phoenix Valley. So when I was in the big AZ, I thought I would hike up the trail. Sound like fun? Well, it was. Brutal, backbreaking fun...

1 Thoughts:
Two things.
#1. I hiked Camel Back the last time I was in Phoenix too. It was really fun...and pretty darn steep. Especially toward the end.
And then I got the flu that night and puked my guts out.
#2. Marathons are NOT named after a man. His name was Pheidippides. Marathons are named after the place where the Athenians fought the invading Persians. Though you are right, Pheidippides did die after he ran all the way back to Athens to tell them the news.
Hopefully, none of our marathon-running friends die this coming weekend!
